Science is a systematic and organized form of knowledge which works on facts, hypothesis and explanations.

A pencil or straw kept in a glass or beaker seems to be broken if seen from a certain angle. Why?
Reason: It seems that so because of bending of light
Explanation: When light travel from a rare medium to denser medium it deflects from its path .According to law of reflection called snell’s law the angle of incidence is equal to angle of reflection in same medium but when light travel from rare medium to denser medium like air to water or denser to rare medium like water to air it deflects with some angle in that case angle of incidence is not equal to angle of reflection .It leads to bending of light. This is the the reason because of which a pencil or a straw seems broken to us. Because of bending of light it is difficult to estimate the position of any object under water when we see it from an angle.
Why does a person snore ?
Reason: Snoring happens when air can’t flow from nasal cavity to throat.
Explanation: Snoring is caused when air can’t flow from nasal cavity to throat .There can be many reasons for blockage of nasal cavity or congestion ,nasal polyps( extra growth of tissue in nose ),Sinus infection ,obesity etc. Sound is produced during snoring because of vibration created inside the nose. when air enters into the nose and when it collides with the obstruction in the nose it starts vibrating and produces sound .This sound is called snoring.

Why is our backbone made up of 33 small bones?
Reason: Vertebra in our backbone gives us flexibility.
Explanation: Human skeleton is the framework of bones which provides us a definite structure and a fixed shape. In vertebrates their is a long backbone. Backbone is made up of 33 small bones or vertebral column .This00000000 vertebral column allow us to bend sideways and forward or backward if our backbone is made up of a single bone or a long bone then we will look like a scarecrow .We will not be able to do so many activities like dancing ,bending, kneeling etc. It is because of our flexible backbone that we are able to do movement.
Why do we see things colorful whereas animals are colorblind?
Reason : Animals do not have color receptors in their eyes.
Explanation: We are able to see this world colorful but for many animals this world is black and white. Sun rays contain a spectrum of color which is called VIBGYOR. Things around us are having pigment in it. They absorb particular light from the spectrum and when we see them that visible spectrum comes to our eyes. We are having color receptors present in our eyes i.e. Rod and Cone cells these receptors receive the reflected light and make us see the color of the object. We see the beautiful color around us because of these Rod and Cone cells. These cells are missing in animals that’s why they are color blind .In early childhood or infantile stage infants are also not able to see colors.
Why is it difficult to walk in a moving bus or train?
Reason: Because of Inertia
Explanation: When we are moving in a bus or train we are in position of rest whereas vehicle is in position of motion. When we are trying to walk our body still tends to be in rest .it resist the motion that’s why we feel difficulty in walking in a moving vehicle. This phenomena is called inertia.
